SCR-274N Radio Setup

Thu May 31, 2018 8:26 am

I have the major components of a 2 transmitter 3 receiver setup of the SCR-274N Command Radio system that I would like to find a new home for. I would prefer to donate to a museum or Warbird restoration group that can display/use them. I had already spoken to members of the local CAF but they did not seem interested.

The setup consists of the following:

2 Transmitters (BC-696, BC-459) in a rack (FT-226)
3 Receivers (BC-454, BC-453, BC-455) with dynamotors (DM-32) in a rack (FT-220)
1 Modulator (BC-456) and dynamotor (DM-33)
1 Receiver control box (BC-450)
1 Transmitter control box (BC-451)
1 Antenna relay (BC-442)
2 right angle tuning spline adapters (MC-211)
2 pairs of headphones
1 headphone adapter cable (CD-307)
2 NOS spare 1625 tubes
1 spare BC-455 receiver for parts

I do not have any of the shock mounts, connectors, receiver plug-in drawers, or tuning cables.

Dean K5DH here. I can give your SCR-274N gear a good home at the Vintage Flying Museum. I've been planning to set up a permanent WW2 radio equipment display. I have a very complete SCR-287 station already (BC-348Q receiver, BC-375E transmitter, all six tuning units and five CS-48 storage cases, BC-306-A antenna coupler, PE-73C dynamotor, trailing wire antenna controller, antenna reel, fairlead, egg, knife switch, etc.). It would be nice to add the command sets! PM me via WIX, or email me at k5dh@qsl.net

73 de K5DH!

If you have any of this equipment left, I'd like to have some of it. We're restoring an F4U-1G Corsair, and could use some of the gear at the Connecticut Air and Space center (https://cascstratford.wordpress.com/)
Let me know
