Scott & The rest of the Mods:
Would/Could you entertain the idea of having a section for the restoration and operation for threads of these type aircraft? The Helldiver section doesn't get much activity but there are quite a few T-6/SNJ/Harvard/Yale owners on this site who could put up threads on their planes, Rich Palmer's T-6 resto and mx activities, BDK, Trey Carroll, Tim Savage, Chuck Wahl, Chunks etc etc
I think a section like this would be very popular.

What does everybody else think?

Might not be a bad idea to consolidate this stuff.

+1 to your +1 -it does make more sense to keep all the SNJ/T-6 stuff under one easy to locate spot.

I would like to see everything Texan under one roof and almost like WIX itself, I would not be opposed to sub categories, such as "General Discussion", "Engines", "Piloting", "Other Systems", "Historical Discussion", etc.

Despite using board and google advanced searches, I sometimes find it very tricky to find what I'm looking for on the site. A great discussion 2 years ago is still valid - and I like to continue threads rather than start fresh when the topics are quite similar ... but that's me.

I say go for it!
Ken

I think it's a positively brilliant idea....but then there are those who would suggest I'm biased. :drink3:

I thought that NATA had a mailing list that did the same thing?

I THINK THAT IS A FANTASTIC IDEA! ALTHOUGH NOT MY FAVORITE WARBIRD, IT'S THE CLOSEST THING THAT I CAN'T AFFORD :)

WHY AM I TALKING AT SUCH AN INCREDIBLY HIGH VOLUME?

I was excited when the T-6 area opened in the registry, but wasn't much activity there. I can post weekly updates on the progress NOT being made on my project!

Works for me. I haven't heard anything via the T-6 Maintenance e-mail list for quite
some time....

Great idea! For one, I would gain a lot from hearing other Texan pilots and operators stories, issues, and advice. This dissemination of information is helpful and increases safety within the community... Harvard enthusiasts can come too, I guess

Yep, great idea. I love AT-6 airplanes. It was great to see about 30 of them flying together at Midland. Love that sound.

I'm all in favor....matter of fact, I'll seek the first bit of advice. What is the recommended check for blower seal problems? My airplane's engine does not use excessive amounts of oil when operating, but if it sits for two weeks, start up generates a real mess! Do I have a blower seal issue or simply worn valve guides?
