How much does one of those steel trusses weigh?
Any idea how much the steel in the gear legs weighs?
Is the engine mount steel tubing? How much does that weigh? Wondering how much steel it takes to build a T6?!
Thanks!
The Structural repair manual gives the dimensions and wall thickness of all the tubing used.
There are a couple types as there is a frame for the rotating rear seat and the fixed rear seat.
Engine mount is steel tube and really doesn't weigh much. 35 lbs or so.
Fuselage is light enough for 2 people to move easily.
Landing gear is much heavier with the lower fork a solid forging. Chrome strut is mostly a tube and the upper housing is also a thicker tube of various thicknesses welded up with pieces for the scissors to attach and a cap on top incorporating a large steel lug to lock the gear down. Somewhere around 60 lbs a side as a guess.
