T-6/Harvard assembly advice - offered

Fri Dec 23, 2016 2:35 am

Ok.... here's some usefull advice for anyone that's interested:

BEFORE you attach either left or right outer mainplane onto the centre section..... install the little clip that holds the lower rear piece of the wing attach angle cover onto the centre section attach angle FIRST using that darn countersunk screw.

Merry Christmas

Thanks for the tip, Jason. I can see it would be easy to miss, and missing it would be a pisser.

I can only see it removed when one replaces the lower center wing bolting angle. Not very common business...

Yeah.... I've just finished putting together a Harvard IV that many other people before me pulled apart & "lost" all the hard to find parts..... etc etc.

I jigged & totally rebuilt the centre section with new skins & attach angles etc.... same with the outer mainplanes.

I just didn't notice that the darn clip for the attach angle cover's had a countersunk screw to go in before attachment of the outer's.

Apart from that I have found the aircraft very maintenance friendly!
