Yup, the Turkish are still using them and the Japan Air Self-Defense Force.

It seems with the expense of airplanes these days that old airframes are the equivalent of the World War II Navy ships that were modernized after the war and continue to serve for 30 to even 50 years.

One wonders if our country, god forbid, was ever engaged in large scale hostilities, would old airframes be reconditioned for combat again?...kind of like the old four-piper destroyers of World War II being converted to Destroyer Transports or Seaplane Tenders.

This administration has a plan ? to have a plan they first must have a clue.....

as far a F-4s in today's combat, update the avionics and engines and have at it.

Except that in many cases those airframes that might have a viable role if refurbed are simply gone, as in ground up into little pieces. Case in point; TOMCATS ! They were destroyed within 2 weeks of arrival at AMARG.
