You are correct, it is the full scale replica being built by Holger Bull. He has does some remarkable work previously, including a He 162. His builds (except the Luftwaffe 1946 stuff) do contain some original parts.
So no, there has been no original Do-335 discovered sadly.

Dave

There is a picture of a "Dornier 335 replica (under construction" posted on Flickr, picture taken in 2012.

I will not post the URL here as the rights are reserved and I am not sure what the rules are on that count, but you can search for and find this easily enough. Photo is taken outdoors, in Germany, fuselage externally complete, wings just a frame.

It's posted for all to see, so no problem normally. Also earlier pics here:
http://forum.keypublishing.com/showthre ... 35-Replica

The problem is, the article in French specifically states that the castle one is NOT the above replica, but another real aircraft.
Replica based on parts from DO335A-0 n°107
The castle one DO335A-0 Wnr240109 VG+PP

Correct, it isn't the Pflumm replica, it is Holger's replica.

Here a quick translation of the article:

QUOTE
To follow on our previous coverage in the second edition of "Cocardes" magazine, one of our reader informed us of the recent discovery of a Do 335 in a castle in Germany.
We knew the existence of a replica in Schwenningen, so our first reaction was to check that this was not this well known replica who finally end up in the Dornier museum in Friedrichshafen. That’s not the case. The few original parts on this replica are coming from Do 335 A-0 Number 107.
This second Do 335, whereas incomplete, is made of such a significant number of original parts to be consider as an original airframe and not a replica.
It is Do 335 A-0 WerkNummer 240109 registered VG+PP which was accidentally damaged on the 15th of January 1945. The aircraft was damaged in Oberpfaffenhofen but was not considered beyond repair. This A-0 was then repaired and modified to become a B-2. It was never finished and never flew again. This aircraft is now preserved with its original engines, the lower section of its fuselage, bulkheads, instruments, hydraulics, radios, landing gears. Wings are incomplete and stored elsewhere in the castle like the armament, and even an SC 1000 bomb with its launcher.
The list of original parts is long and comprehensive so this aircraft may gain a lot of attention from a number of museums worldwide. We can now tell you that the Americans are not the only one to have a Do 335. A second one exists in Europe.
UNQUOTE

Cheers,

Phil

A while ago I get some links to these pictures. For me it looks like a replica.

And does not look like that good a replica. This has nowhere near the number of rivets that I would expect. Did the French Air-mag get dupped by this, or is it passing an out and out-of-season April-Fool's joke?

The photos were set to the mag by a person who was told not to circulate them, and people wonder why they are shut out of visiting such projects.

So it looks like one but isn't actually as originally built. Looks good enough to fool most people. Good on him at least he has put the effort in to do something most people couldn't.

Just to take some of the wind out of the romantic sails of some people here:

I live in Munich (close to Oberpfaffenhofen, in fact directly below its only instrument approach) since more than 27 years.

Draw a cone on your map, Lake Constance - Munich - Salzburg, delimited to the south by the Alps.

This is one of the most densely populated areas in Southern Germany, and in particular one of the most touristic. There is not one stone here which has not been turned, and most importantly, there are no isolated, derelict Neuschwanstein-like unknown secret castles anywhere here. Everything is documented, charted, mapped, explored and overrun by daytrippers and other tourists. Just came back to Munich this evening from Lake Kochel. Took me 2 hours, one continuous queue of cars all the way.

I won't exclude that something surprising and unknown can still be found in Germany.

But it definitely won't be in Upper Bavaria (i.e. Southern Bavaria).

I think it looks good! It'll be a great museum piece when finished :)
