Localized ads

How are these controlled by the forum? Is everything allowed? In Sweden, those "you're the millionth user and have been chosen the winner of a gift card" is only click-bait and if you click the wrong link - you're screwed. Often you have to pay a small fee to get the gift card but the only thing that happens is that you reveal you credit card details, pay the fee but never see the gift card.

I haven't clicked on the "WILLY:s ad" that appears in Sweden but I doubt that every other time I log on to the WIX, I get chosen the winner and that I honestly will get a SEK 5,000 gift card (approximately $500). Just think of it, either you get chosen or you win, never both at the same time. It's a scam and probably has nothing to do with WILLY:s (a supermarket chain)!

... and now it's from ICA, another supermarket chain ...

The ads are populated by some algorithm at Google based upon cookies on your personal machine. Same thing with Facebook.

Funny story, a WIXer (who shall remain nameless) was upset with me over all the dating/escort type ads that were appearing. I explained that those were out of my control and based on his own surfing habits. I never heard from him again :)

I too have received "friend requests" from scantily clad ladies on FaceBook. They must all be working at WILLY:s or ICA  !

On a more serious note, too bad that Google is spreading crap around. Many sites arent advertisers, they are scammers hiding behind a well known company. If I were in a managing position on WILLY:s or ICA, I would come down like a ton of bricks on Google or the actual scammers. Maybe it's not that simple :? ?

My company (a large corporation) contracts with a service for employee recreational opportunities which includes advertising for recreational marijuana, which is an activity that would get you terminated instantly. I mentioned this to the company and they said it wasn't their problem because it was a subcontractor.

laughed :D What an interesting question you raised

Hello everyone! I had to take out a payday loan when my electiricity bills accumulated to an alarming degree. The requirements were quite simple, here you can read the full piece of writing on how to apply and pick the cheapest lender. It did make my life easier for a while. But the lesson’s learnt: hope I won’t have resort to such drastic measures ever again!

Get yourself 2 or three good ad blockers and all your problems will go away - AdBlock Plus is good, uBlock is good, Popup blocker is good, privacy badger is good

Yup, and eventually the sites that rely on that revenue to keep going will fade away as well. Just saying. Now if I get a several hundred new subscribers, either through paypal or patreon I'll consider taking those types of ads down.
