Thanks for the pictures everyone! Excellent video BK. Great to see a Connie flying here in the U.S. I hope Yanks is able to keep her airworthy for a while.

Dan, it was a one-off ferry flight, the first time a Connie has flown in the US since 2005.

Great pics of a great aircraft..thanks everybody!

Straying just a bit off-topic: what are the plans for the Super Connie at the National Airline Heritage Museum in Kansas City (to old "Save A Connie" aircraft)? I can't find much recent info, although I did find a YouTube video of her doing an engine run-up this past year. Are there any plans to get her back in the air? I got to see her fly back in 1991, and it was spectacular. Moreso because it was right at dusk, and the exhaust flames really showed up.

To make a correction I just wanted to say that I HAVE seen a Connie fly before. A few times I got to see the MATS Connie fly. But an actual EC-121 I have not. I kind of consider them a bit different. Plus this Connie is the bigger version, and has me worked up because it's basically unrestored. It's a bit rough and I love seeing that rough unrestored, leaking oil look :drink3: . She is still obviously as original you can get. I just love everything about this airplane. :drink3: I can only imagine the great smell radiating inside. :supz:

From the takeoff photos, it looks like the mixtures needed a bit of a bump up, exhaust flames were pretty orange when they should have been blue. The oil leak streak shows the great airflow patterns around the aft fuselage, overall that was one excellent adventure!!
Did anyone tape from inside during the flight?

Appreciate all the photos and videos of the Connie ferry flight arriving at Chino. Very sad that it is a one time flight. Looking forward to seeing the Airline History Museum's Super Connie and the Lufthansa Starliner in the air in the next couple of years or so.

That would be cool if the CAF acquired a Connie and made it look like a C-69!
