Well, given there's the discussion in the main hangar, I thought I'd start a thread here for people to check in for a WIX meet at the Canadian Warplane Heritage's 40th Anniversary Show at Hamilton, ON on the 16-17 June, 2012.

There seems to be some consensus that a dinner on the Sat Eve would be a go, and Steve T's suggested:

Re a WIX dinner/get-together, there are plenty of restaurants on the Upper James Street commercial strip, north of the airport between Mt.Hope and Hamilton itself; it would be nice to catch up with everyone...maybe I could be there for that even if I'm unable to make the airshow...let's keep in touch about this idea.

So check in and suggest away! I'm hoping someone closer can take a local lead for organisation - I'm both not local and have prior (work) commitments for the show, so I can't take that lead.

But I'm up for a dinner meet!

Regards,

I hope all Wixers attending the show will drop by in front of my Fleet Finch 16b(#4494) and say hello
Would be great to see some faces behind the names.

Catherine and I will be there for sure. We will be sure to check in at the Finch and B-29, and of course we are up for an after-show dinner gathering.

Do you want to find locations of displayed, stored or active aircraft? Then start with the The Locator.
Do you want to find or contribute to the documented history of an aircraft? If so then start with the Airframes Database.

I'm meeting up with some Duxford chaps who are crossing The Pond for this one. I would for sure like to meet some Wixers as Fleet put it... putting some faces to the names.

I will be working with the CWH engineering staff likely on the ramp, servicing O2 and such.

Steve Tournay has been giving me some tips on a location for a post-show dinner. I am thinking a pub where people can hang-out and get some food might be better than a more formal restaurant. I'll let every know what I am able to find. I am trying to count heads in case I need to make a reservation. So far we have...
- Mike &Catherine
- Eric & Bernadette
- Bill & Sanna
...Are there any others that are specifically interested in a post-show dinner?

That sounds like a good plan.

Count me in Mike, so one more.

I've been told a few others are interested, so I'll get them to check in too.

Cheers,

If I can stay awake, I'll drop by. I'll drag Tom from Edmonton and maybe Mikey with me.

How about in town at the 447 Club or Frankie's?

Al

I would be interested in getting together also,

647-567-2376 and let me know wahts planned
Maybe we can get a group picture in front of the Fleet ???
