Matthias,

Love the update on the Buchon. In the close ups of the T-6 that safety wiring is fantastic!

The T-6 is a Harvard and it's fitted with the normal winter exhaust that we have on Harvards.

statement of MeierMotors concerning the T9 mishap :

Last week Spitfire T9 D-FMKN made a belly landing due undercarriage failure whilest a tesflight. The good news is that nobody was hurt. After checking the ac we can exclude technical failure. The owner, the air-fighter-academy GmbH gave us order to repair the damages. We are looking forward to bring this beautiful double seater as fast as possible back to the air.

today, lets talk about Mustangs .... exactly the TF-51 "Little Ite" D-FUNN. The project is finished, Achim did the testflights of that beauty. In some days the fighter will be delivered to its new owner, the Air Fighter Academy GmbH based at Heringsdorf on the island Usedom .... time to say good bye with some pictures

maidenflight in March 2012, Achim Meier at the controls, Mustang-man Oleg (responsible mech on the backseat)

Yiehaaaaaa ..... these are the questions I love whilest AchimMeir is preparing for another checkflight "Hey Matthias, lets take a ride, are you interested ?" OF COURSE I AM

cruising with Achim in the TF-51 "Little Ite" D-FUNN ... what an experience

Image

Image

Image

cruising with 250 mp/h, thats it ! On the right my hometown Freiburg i.Br. and the beautiful landscape of the Black Forest

Image

on the left the river Rhein, seperated in two rivers; on the left the french Rheinchannel, on the right the german "Oldrhine". The french part is used for commercial shipping to Rotterdam from Basel (Switzerland), the german part only for recreational use. These are the small things where you can recognize wether you lost or won a war .......

Image

okay, I am looking a bit strange .... but its not so easy to take a picture of yourself while strapped in the seat and the camera ribbon round your neck, and yes I should shave my skin. Thats a banker looks like when he is on holiday and takes a Mustang ride

Image

final on ETDG

job done

last but not least some impressions

to American icons, the Mustang and the Harley Davidson in front of the MeierMotors shop. Btw. Achim himself converted the shovelhead

Thats it ... another major project done, hope you enjoyed the journey

Thank you for the pics and video, Matthias. I like the photos, but enjoyed the video even more. Great looking Mustang, will visit her in her home at Heringsdorf for sure during summer / fall.

... our friend an customer Steven Stead is preparing TE184 for the next sortie. On Friday he left his base EDTG to visit an airshow in the Czech Republic. For me a perfect moment to listen to the wonderful Merlin sound. The Mk.XVIe is really a beautiful Spitfire and it was again one of those big moments for me

pushing TE184 to engine startposition is some of the things which are not so funny at that very hot day........

nad the long way to the tarmac .... its also a long way for me. Steven has it more comfortable but even hotter ....

Image

.... looking for the webmaster :supz:

Image

Magneto & pitch-tests. Yes its far away but the murmur of the mighty Merlin is always ever-present

Image

here we go

Image

Image

up and away

Image

Image

after that its really quit on the airfield, and for me a long way back to the MeierMotors shop .... yes it was pretty hot this Friday.

After that they had some flights with P-51, TF-51 and Tiger Moth. It was a long afternoon for me, but later we had a beautiful barbeque at the shop. That is what I call "a perfect day"

... beside the heavymetal, some checks were planned with Tiger Moth D-ECTM ... something to relax ... for me

Klaus Müller is responsible for the flight tests and so the first job was to "ferry" the bipe to the grass runway. Taxiing the Tiger is quite a bad idea. No brakes and a tailskid wich does not really likes the tarmac

Image

Image

really a beauty

small outside check and give those carburators something to drink

take place, magneto switches on (outside under the windscreen)
