Heard a rumor that the Dr. Bill Anderson Mk XVI (convert to IX) Spitfire TD135 fuselage and a recently aquired set of wings may be at Historic Flying Ltd. under restoration... can anyone verify this?

How far along did that come (the restoration) at Geneseo before it was relocated? Any word on the condition of the wings? Any time table for it returning to the air? Did I miss anything?

When I last saw the plane, the fuselage was being re-riveted due to problems with the initial restoration rivet job. That was nearly complete though. The fuselage needed very little structural work after that... just all the wiring and plumbing once the wings were done. First set of wings have been tied up in some sort of unmentionable red tape, but they were basically started, but not really near to complete. If a new set was purchased in "installable" condition, it is fair to say that it may take little time at all to get it into the air... all the parts were there as well as the engine.

Ryan -

I think that something could be found in the reports from the HF "open house" organised a couple of months ago by Aeroplane Monthly, but I seem to be unable to locate it right now.

Perhaps some WIXer with greater patience than I might be able to trawl it up from this or other fora.

Happy hunting!

TD135 quite recently passed through the UK and you should now be looking toward Belgium.

Not at all.
Prompted by PeterA's post ... I remembered the story!
Belgium indeed, but in a quite different scale from HFL shareholders.
'nuff said.

No conspiracy.

I have an un-confirmed report that TD135 is now with the Eric Vormaleze collection.

So am I to gather that this a/c is no longer in Dr. Bill Anderson's care?

That would be my logical conclusion.
