Crossing my fingers she'll be Oshkosh bound in a few weeks - the one and only surviving Brewster Corsair is completed at Ezell Aviation, and soon to be flight tested.

Photos shared on the Ezell Facebook page (as mentioned here before, the aircraft is completed in the original markings it wore as a State-side trainer):

What a beauty! Wow!

So good to see this bird back in one piece and taking to the skies! Great work and thanks to Lex for saving her.

All right, John T. I wasn’t going to go there, but just remember you started it.

The Corsair turnout could be considerable. Already planned are:

Tobul -4
Beck/Ehren -4
O’Connor -7

(Good chance):

Latshaw -4
Glover FG-1D (attended last 2 years?)

Yeah, an F3A would be tremendous. I’ve got a pirate just up the road
who’s pretty anxious to get reacquainted.

Dialogue yesterday at the Ezell facebook page indicates the Brewster F3A will not be at Oshkosh, nor will Scott Glover's "Marine's Dream".

Of course, the silver lining is that this leaves more space on the ramp for other Corsair owners to step up!

For those who must suffer an OSH-free July: Dan K's got your back.

Live.ATC has their links up for AirVenture (Personal favorite of mine is "North + South Tower" during arrival weekend...drives Mrs. K nuts):

Another July ritual is listening to "Fantastic Friday". If you're unfamiliar with this bit of Oshkosh lore, I'd encourage you to take a few moments to check it out. No first attempt at flying in to AirVenture would be complete without the experience (And kudos to EAA Chapter 1128 for providing the audio file).

Might as well go for the trifecta and watch The Defender...

Great news on the Cavanaugh Skyraiders! Assuming Bad News and Naked Fanny show up as usual, we could have three Skyraiders in "Sandy" markings. That would make for an awesome formation or a possible flight with "Special Kay."

I just found out that we are sending our Harvard Mk II AJ583 to Oshkosh :D

Image

She is supposed to take part in the T-6/SNJ/Harvard 80th Anniversary events, but I don't know who to get in touch with to get her involved with the RAF 100th Anniversary celebrations. Any leads?

AJ583 was on RAF strength from 1941-43 before being transferred to the RCAF. Her current markings (that I have been upgrading for 5 years!) reflect what she would have looked like circa 1942.

I'm soooo looking forward to attending, as this will be my first ever visit! :D I'm camping with friends in Camp Scholler.

:partyman:

I'll be there. In fact I'll be playing a concert in Theater In The Woods on Thursday night at 20:30, with brother Chris. It'll be the CD release of my new album, Climbin' Away. We'll play some of those tunes, and some of Chris' from his space-album.

Plus I'll be bringing the Spitfire.

Just out of curiosity, how does one get a guitar in a Spitfire? :D

Any one heard anything about what the RAF might be bringing?

Just a one line hint from EAA
"...will include an array of World War I and World War II aircraft, some of the early fighter jets as announced previously in the Classic Jets gathering, and modern RAF aircraft. "

Curious...and hopeful something cool will show up!
