Well for the past couple of years there has been a U.S. civil-registered Tucano among the warbirds. Since that type is still in operational RAF use...

(I'm sorry, after a while you learn to see through most marketing spin.)

Last year an RAF A400 showed up, but there was an announcement of that. Hoping that special painted Canadian C-17 shows up too (since RCAF is part of the RAF history). I see Australian A330s and C-17s always flying over the US on ADSB exchange.

XL446 - I agree with you on the marketing thing and I should have known better, I go to Sun N Fun every year and they are famous for that spin as well as Thunder over Michigan.

The gorgeous Lockheed Vega 5C that was restored for the late John Desmond, painted in Shell colors (one of five originally built for Shell and flown on many occasions by Jimmy Doolittle), took flight for the first time, since 1954, this past Sunday at the Nut Tree Airport in California. According to Antique Airfield's Facebook page, it sounds like the aircraft is now owned by Walt Bowe. Through the video shared by Bernie Vasquez, its R-1340 also sounds just as sweet as the aircraft looks. Fingers cross that they are eyeing Oshkosh.

Nice spot, John; many thanks for sharing!

And multiple kudos to Walt Bowe for making this possible.

Um, Zane, doesn't the RAF have some F-35s now?

I usually don't get too excited over ANOTHER P-51D at OSH, but in this case...

"Moonbeam" is ready to go.

Pretty impressive modern US military line up on the updated post. As for the UK, any word on if the Lancaster from Hamilton Ontario is coming? One site I saw about the RAF 100th anniversary showed a couple Typhoons, so hoping a couple of those make it.

For those migrating to Wisconsin early, perhaps make note that B-24A "Diamond Lil" will not be attending the Warbird Weekend in Janesville. Her current ride schedule doesn't indicate any appearances before early September.

B-29 "Doc" and B-17 "Aluminum Overcast" will be spending this weekend in Madison (in case you wish to get up close and personal a few days early).
