Does anybody know how many DC-3/C-47 restoration projects currently active worldwide?

If they have websites associated with them please post them. Thanks.

"Mr Douglas" in Tullahoma , Tn. It's been sitting forlorn on the ramp for 25 years. They are restoring it to hopefully fly this year. It will be a jump plane. Don't think it had much military history as it was Mr. Douglas' personal plane for many years.

It looks as if this is a very long-term maybe as it looks like the museum folded and the bird is in litigation.

The website for the group restoring it, http://www.mrdouglas.org/. I saw the plane in 2011 and thought it was in decent shape considering how long it had been sitting outside. From looking around it appears it was never in military service, an airliner, Douglas Company plane, with multiple owners before ending up as a skydiving platform.

These guys are trying to return a North Central Airliner Gooney to her original airline scheme/configuration. The DC is still in California but the plan is to return it to Sheboygan, Wisconsin.

How good is it that these aircraft are being restored some 75 years after they have been built.
