Whereabouts of 52-7265 (FICON F-84)

Didn't see 52-7265 at my last visit to Chino. Was wondering about its current whereabouts?

Those those of use who look at types, not serials, what is 52-7265?

52-7265 is the F-84 with the FICON trapeze attachment.

This might be totally unrelated, but was this by any chance the one that used to be at Addison Airport (Dallas) in the early 1980's ?

Well if it's an RF-84K then it's a FICON jet. So not fake.

When was your last visit? It was still in its usual place in the outside storage area at the end of last year.

They used to be based nearby.
I have been told that a filled FICON pit can still be seen at Fairchild.

I think we have color home movies of one at display at Larson AFB during an Armed Forces Day display circa 1956.

Good article on the FICON mission at Fairchild, and includes a few pictures of the loading pit.

I have been fascinated about the FICON mission for years, and some references wonder if the were ever used operationally (ie USSR penetrations) but this article seems to imply that operations were indeed very short, with the first hooks ups in December 1955, 13 successfully hook ups but then a "black Friday" event on 13 January, 1956 with 3 aircraft damaged in hook up attempts during training and a suspension of operations.

A quick google map does not reveal an obvious (filled in) pit me, with perhaps some likely areas since overlays with taxi ways.
