Yesterday at Carson City Airport I saw a crew dismantling one of the old Albatrosses that has been sitting at the airport for years. It was already sitting on a gooseneck trailer and the outer wing panels were off and the tail was off. I have no info on the ID of the plane but I could see a faint US Air Force on the forward fuselage. My first time using Flickr so I hope it works.

Thanks Mike. I do believe that is the one. I didn't approach them and ask questions as they looked pretty busy so I have no idea where it is going. I may be able to find out tomorrow.

One of the A&P's on the field told me the plane was taken apart with sawzalls. He said the pigeon poop was pretty deep in it with lots of corrosion. The plane is headed to Florida to be incorporated into a bar or something like that. He said he stopped at the spot to look at a few things left but the fuselage and major parts were gone. A pigeon landed and was walking around wondering where his home had gone to.
