One of the pilots at Buffalo has a derelict PV-1 Ventura project, and Joe has several Norseman projects as well as a second N3N stashed away.

Is the Ventura one of the Howard Aero conversions?

Nope, it's actually an almost dead-stock wartime PV-1. Crashed in 1953 after only the barest conversion work to civilianize it for survey use. Even all the turret support structure and power pickups were all still in it, armor plate, parachute racks... almost the whole smash.

Maybe an old DC-7 or crusty Connie, that would be very cool.

I think the C-47 was easily doable by this team. They had the means, the experience, the skills and the parts readily available. I think the real challenge they faced was the calendar.

To select an airframe type they have no experience with, especially out in the weather will be a lot harder for them. I can't wait to see what they choose if they continue.

I know Mikey was hoping to get a hold of the DC3 Carcass in Peterborough ON, (Formerly C-GJDM) once the Night Fright Crew were done pilfering it. I don't know if he ended up getting it or not, Dan do you know? Spoiler alert I hope !

Seeing that one rescued, even if it went to Basler would be a great outcome considering the alternative...............otherwise its days are numbered for sure

Sorry - not a clue. I'm away from base for the summer and pretty much out of the loop.

If you haven't seen them, there were a few new "wrap up" videos posted recently including one where Mikey discusses costs associated with the restoration and how the finances worked out for the project.

Very informative

He also hints at a season two so I'm anxious to see what he comes up with for the next "Plane Savers" (you just read that in Mikey's voice didn't you)

I'd guess this will be an Oshkosh wrap up video. I'll be watching.

Anyone else enjoying Season 2? Looks like Joe is getting in on the fun!

Season 2, nope, boring. It either needs to be a high end war bird or a multi engine propliner to make it interesting. And is why there was a huge following with the DC-3. I'm not really interested in a fabric covered almost homebuilt type plane. Its all the systems and size and metal that make it interesting.
