This first series of photos below show Douglas-Long Beach B-17G-20-DL Fortress 42-37895 busted up in the woods. Looks to have been a stateside training plane at this time.
J Baugher states: Delivered Denver Oct 8, 1943; Las Vegas Oct 30, 1943; assigned to 91st BG at Bassingbourn UK, but en route to the UK crash landed at Cliffory, Northern Ireland on Dec 9, 1943; It then states (WO) May 20, 1944. (FORTLOG)

If I read this corerctly then doesn't it seem this B-17 crashed twice? One in N Ireland and then again stateside? A bit of bad luck.

This is a series showing what looks to be a C-46 busted up real good. (bad). I'm thinking Canada or Alaska.

Below is a small observation plane wreck. Only a couple of days after the C-46. If I recall one was looking for the other.

This is a stateside Grumman F6F Hellcat in the woods, not sure where and when this happened.

We've been discussing that B-17 on the Aero Vintage forum; looks like the Osborne listing could be mistaken? Note the lack of cheek gun positions, usually a hallmark of a stateside trainer.

Where was this? Clearly somewhere in the deep south from the pines and Spanish moss...

Per AAIR, this was 2 miles SSE of Hendricks Field, Sebring, FL.
