The ex-LSFM Hurricane has been under restoration at Ray Middleton’s shop for the Dakota Territory Air Museum (former Texas Flying Legends). I’ve read that it should be ready to fly by the end of the year or early 2020.

The remains of the one that crashed at Fullerton, CA airport were in storage at Chino Airport a few years back. They had an unbuilt fuselage from the initial production run to go with it. Not sure of its current status however.

As for the VWC lysander, my understanding is that it was purchased by a gentleman in Ontario (not sure his name, Toronto area i believe) and the aircraft will , again as far as I am to understand it, still be kept at the VWC hangar.

I live in the Toronto area and it was not me or any of my friends who live around here as well.
Hope this narrows it down for you.

Hey, that's me!

The Lysander has been sold to a gentleman in Toronto. I'll be managing the program for him. It'll keep flying, much the way we did it in 2015 and 2016, when I barnstormed with the thing.

I can't make public all the details yet. But for now it will continue to be hangered as part of the Mike Potter Aircraft Collection, in Gatineau.

I flew it in October, for the Test Flight as part of the sale. VERY enjoyable!

Great to see the VWoC Lysander airborne again, thanks Dave H for the pictures. I'm sure none of us are jealous in the slightest...

While on the subject of Canadian Lysanders, does anyone know the current status of CWH's 2363 after the mishap of 2016?

I walked past the CWH Lysander this past Saturday.
It is disassembled and CWH engineering currently have their hands full with other projects.
The Lysander didn't look like it was being worked on.
I did hear that they have secured a replacement undercarriage arch.
The original was broken during the forced landing.

Great to hear that the VWoC example will remain in Canada for the time being.

Andy

If you can't have fun when you're in a Lysander, you're not really alive.

So how does the Lysander compare in the fun to fly stakes with say the Mustang, Spitfire, or Hurricane Dave?
