On a glorious calm morning last year I took the Spitfire up, and could hardly stop rolling and looping -- I almost felt guilty.

Another difficult day there Dave, I dunno how you cope with such tough assignments...

Seriously though, it's a great video and all the pre-start checklists and so on are really interesting and give a real insight. Many thanks!

You probably need a backup pilot for the Spit. I can be there...um...when do you need me to be there? Just let me know... ;-)

Marvelous - just marvelous! Thanks for helping us dreamers try to imagine what this must be like.

(And by the way, 'love the engine start & checklist material - can't imagine why anyone would skip it!)

Hey Dave.
As an engineer, this video really concerns me.
The difficulty of maintaining straight and level flight, seems to be a very real problem.
I strongly recommend that you go out and verify all of these parameters again

Good on you Dave! Great video,

Thanks for posting.

Andy

Thanks! This one has had a quick response, as these thing go...

I put the checklist-skip option in because I didn't want to repeat what I'd already posted several times.

The aeroplane is waiting for it's post-Annual check flight right now, but the travel rules just tightened up.

I learn something from everyone:

I like your lazy 8 method of losing altitude. I'll start using that.

Thanks for doing that video. I'm sure a lot goes into narrating a editing. The flying is always the easy part!
