I am phenomenally sadden to report the passing of Wally Jero - longtime volunteer and CAF Refueler from Oshkosh, WI. Wally was a fixture in the CAF warbird world dispensing a gas from his 5000 gallon truck beginning in the days of Airsho in Harlingen. He and his wife Sandie worked 30 years of Airshows, often just being “behind the scenes.” He worked sun up to sundown days on end dispensing fuel. I had the privilege of working with Wally for those 30 years as “the Fuel Lady.” His contributions to the annual CAF Airshow are legendary. He leaves behind two sons - Beau Jero from Axtell, TX and Jim Jero of Georgetown, TX. He spent his retirement years in Hutto, TX.
