Really. I know this has been discussed on these pages adnauseam but, for the life of me, I cannot understand why they are in such a state of denial about their B-24 not being the only one flyable.

Note to Collings Foundation. Get over yourselves.

It's all about the money, exclusivity and brand name recognition. It's a standard marketing strategy. Unfortunately, the decision to quit misleading the public must come from the very top. I guess they just don't care.

Thanks for posting Rick,Jay always says to Tom Cruise that he wants to go for a ride, guess he was busy that day.

I think Jay needs to take his Merlin out and give it to the guys restoring the Mossies! That's where that engine belongs. I was thinking about the liquid cooled engine and thought about the P-47s' "Air Cooled Injun", and I still like the P-47 better because of all the damage it could take and get the pilot home.

Well...Tom actually rented our 17 a couple years ago and flew it quite well...and one of Jay's comments was he needs to take his merlin and put it back into an airplane. As for the only flying B-24 comments...well stay tuned.

They kept referring to the aircraft as a P-51C, but the nomenclature block on the side of the aircraft said P-51B. I know the difference is build location, but you would think they could decide which it is and call it by its proper name.

Maybe the Collings Foundation is finally going to publically acknowledge that they don't really have the world's only flying B-24.

I wonder (and JimH can probably say for sure)... is the Collings P-51 really a "C" model that's painted as a "B" model, or vice-versa? The Collings B-24 is a "J" model painted as an "H" model

As for "Witchcraft" being the "only flying" B-24, perhaps that claim stems from the fact that some people don't consider "Ol' 927" to be a "real" B-24 because it was built as an LB-30 (disclaimer: I am not one of those people!).
