Thanks to all those who gave me contact advice for the show. I spoke to them today and hope to work something out.

Perhaps a Spitfire gathering???? Greenwood, Russell, Potter, Fighter Factory. I can hear the sound of Merlins already! Enough daydreaming, back to work :)

Ah Geneseo is becoming more and more like Legends isn't it?

LOL... it is amusing how many acts make it down from Canada. Not sure how many of you remember the rainy friday weather 2 years ago, but basically the whole Canadian contingent showed up in St Cathrines within about 30 min. The ramp suddenly went from empty to 20+ taildraggers. The folks running St Cathrines Radio certainly seemed to appreciate the impromptu airshow gathering. Anyways after sending those with frills like enclosed cockpits and a half decent cruise (the Harvard Aerobatic Team!) ahead to scout out the improvement the rest of us (GWFM, Tiger Boys, assorted others) were not far behind. One of those situations where everyone is sitting around waiting for someone else to make the first move, and then the whole crowd follows suit. Fortunately it turned out to be a great weekend after that dreary friday.

On top of the Spitfire gaggle already listed it'd be nice to see a handful of Hurricanes to match (Russell, Potter (X2 one of these days!), Fighter Factory). Add in the Mustangs and it'll be merlins as far as the eye can see!

If everything works out, I'll be at Geneseo again this year with my "old" gang from Warbird Adventures..........

Ed, I remember that day well. It has to be the only Friday I have ever left the field before the sun went down. It rained so bad that day we knew nothing was coming in so a few of us went to a Hotel at Mt. Morris for a few hours. I remember all of a sudden having the urgency to get back to the field and fifteen minutes after we arrived the field filled with arriving Canadian aircraft. It was a great sight to see and made me proud to be Canadian. This is a photo of halt the Canadians that flooded the airport as soon as the weather blew over.

Bernadette and I plan to arrive in the Geneseo area by Wednesday as I’m taking the week off so I can attend Thunder the week before and get to Geneseo early. This year they are planning a week long biplane rally so there should be lots of flying mid week at the field.

If you come back it will be hard to top this group shot from last year.

Afer driving 6 hours in the rain, we arrived at the field with lightning strikes around us :( After a few hours bellied up to the bar in the Big Tree, we walked outside and the clouds were starting to break. The start to a great weekend :D

Yes, the bad weather on Friday prevented a few prime aircraft from attending that year, real shame.

Bill, I hope Frank can work a deal that will bring you to Geneseo.

The last time I saw TE-308 Don Plumb was still around and I was only 7 or 8.

Eric

TE308? Yes please!

Fri Feb 09, 2007 12:49 pm

Bill--

Echoing most of what Eric said...except the bit about ever having seen TE308. I don't remember the '75 Mt.Hope show well enough to know whether she was there; if not, I have never seen her (nor any T9). It would be an utter thrill to see you and TE308 in the lineup at Gennie. That'd be automatically worth the trip for me even if no other fighter showed up!

Needless to say I intend being there as usual, probably on the Saturday.

Cheers

Perhaps if Rob were to fly the Spit, and Bill G. were there with his....???? Maybe they'd be so kind...?

That'd make a heck of a WIX group photo, I think!
