Who's planning on attending Barksdale? I just found out I'm scheduled on the Lone Star B-17 "Thunderbird". This is my first airshow flight! Woo-hoo!

Would have liked to have seen the "Thunderbird" did y'all fly? Did see a silver B-25 flash over us poor souls stuck on Barksdale Blvd...

I've attended the Barksdale AFB Open House since the early 80's and have never seen traffic control as bad as Saturday.

Hit the off ramp from I-20 to Barsdale Blvd. about 10:20 - yes, running late, driving in a couple hours from East Texas. Domino's Pizza delivered to car around 12:30... Got to the main gate at 13:30. Got parked at 15:00, far north end of ramp, just as the Thunderbirds were starting. Walked 40 min. to get to the security gates to be told they weren't letting anybody in, airshow closed at 15:30.

Was ready to give up waiting about noon, but had 5 yr-old nephew with us who was excited enough about going to an airshow to stay calm that long in the car! Had to stick it out as long as the 5 yr-old did...

Wish some of the security folks would have told us at the front gate, or posted a notice that airshow CLOSED AT 15:30 somewhere so we could have avoided the two mile parking lot march... (In the past have been allowed to stay in the static display area till whenever vendors shut down) :(
