Is anybody going to the Muskegon, MI Airfair, July 21-23? I'll be there working the ground ops with my crew.
Looks like Mint Moore will be there with a few birds as well as Steve Hinton and the POF P-38.

Matt;
I'm with you on the Temp/Humdity, but I have to be there! Look me up! Any of the guys working the flightline should be able to find me. Just ask for the head Airdale!
See you there!

I'll be there with the PV-2 Harpoon "Hot Stuff". It's supposed to be cooler this weekend. :D

Yeah, maybe I won't look like "the incredible lobster-man" after this year's show. :shock: I'm going on Saturday, maybe on Sunday as well. It's nice to see the Harpoon back in the air too! Are you guys going to fly during the show or be static only?

Well, I guess you know by now that we flew. The Airdales and everyone involved did a great job! We enjoyed it very much. The weather was perfect,too. Off to Dayton next!

Yeah, it was a great show! The ol' PV-2 was looking very nice, and some excellent flying too! Do you know if there was any damage to the Mig-17 when it ran off the runway on Saturday? I didn't realize he had ran off the runway until the guy next to me asked why he was taxiing on the grass. Other than that hiccup, I think the show was great, the Heritage Flight was very especially impressive. Thanks to Airdales and Muskegon for putting on a great show!

I just got back a little while ago from Muskegon. This morning we got to watch the P-38 and P-51C depart for OSH, being flown by Steve Hinton and Ed Shipley respectively.
The Mig had a hydraulic failure (some type of valve stuck) and it overran the runway by about 800 feet. Grass/ground was hard and no damage to anybody or anything. David did a great job of threading the runway end lights, saving any damage to the aircraft, lights or himself. It was flying on
Sunday with no problems. David Burdine puts on a great show that really plays up the Mig-17's assets. (And it's a great paint job too!!!)

Thanks PJ, some of my guys got a great tour of the PV-2. It was a little tight quarters on that ramp, but you guys helped out greatly. I wish you had introduced yourself. It's just too bad the P-38 didn't recover on the warbird ramp. There were a lot of people that made that event work including all the Warbird guys from the veterans display. We were just a small part, but thanks for the comments! We hope to be asked back next year!
Blue skies,
Jerry
