For us Long Island WIXers, a chance to see the Baranaskas aircraft and the American Airpower aircraft out at Brookhaven Airport this weekend. Anyone going?

Hey, that looks like it might be fun. Is there any additional info available such as specifically what will be there and when it will fly? Anyone been to this event before who can report what it's like?

All I know is what's on the website. I haven't seen the Baranaskas P-40 yet, but I suspect that will be flying with Glamorous Gal.

I'll be there with my dad on Sunday. Got my tickets on line the other day. This has to be the first airshow that I heard of where YOU MUST by tix in advance, NO SALES at the show! It may be that KHWV is fairly small and they don't want a repeat of what happend out at Calverton 3 years ago, where the traffic was so bad they stopped selling tix at the entrance and let people drive in, park and told them to buy tix at the entrance to the show proper. Problem was Calverton was so big that there was no need to enter the airshow grounds proper and people just sat outside the gate. Free Airshow!

I'm looking fwd to it and I hope WOLI invited some other warbirds as well. Hope to see you there.

Pete

The web site actually says "Tickets will be sold at the show. Advanced ticket purchase is recommended." Actually forcing a typical family to cough up $40 or $50 in a total bet on the weather would not be a good idea!

That changed recently. Beginning of the week it clearly said no tix will be sold at show and tix were limited. I'm glad they changed it but too late for me. I'd much rather purchase at the show.
