Hi gents,
last weekend we had a great event @ Nörvenich AB, Germany as the yearly International WW II Fighter Pilot Meeting 2oo6 was held here.
Former WW II fighter pilots from all over the world came together to celebrate and strengthen there friendship after more as 60 years...
Its nice to see the "oldies" with the new generation of new fighter pilots havin fun together and sharing there experience and storys from such a long time.
We had for a "little" static the following a/c here on base, unfortunately the organisation asked all participants to keep low profile on information for outside, because as you know the Fighter Wing 74 "Mölders" lost there tradition name last year, and its still hard to tell people beside us "fans" what it means to share our same idea of flying and a/c , jets for example.
Static a/c:
2 F-4F ICE JG 74
1 Tornado ECR JBG 32
2 Tornado IDS JBG 31 * one was equipped with GBU-24
1 Me-109 G-6
1 Me-108
1 T-6 "Red Bull"
1 UH-1D LTG 63
1 C-160D LTG 62
plus a few smaller private a/c .....
After more as 60 years we are still battle for a better understanding to our historical part of the Luftwaffe and nowadays the German Air Force
Ok... enough blabla.... let the pictures tell the story
Hope you enjoy my tour, and sorry for the bad weather conditions.... we had everything from sunny periods to really dark skies
But who cares, when you can see and listen to a real DB 605A engine of a real Me-109 G-6 or a Me-108, unfortunately the Me-262 didnt show up, due to technical problems and the Eurofighter went as well u/s.
Comments, suggestions are more as welcome
Cheers
Mick
