NorthWest Scale Modelers show 2012

Tue Feb 21, 2012 3:13 pm

I'm a member of NorthWest Scale Modelers and we have a display in the main gallery of the Museum of Flight every Presidents Day weekend. We decided months ago to make this a "max effort" show and set a new record with 2,500 models displayed. Well, we annihilated our goal with 3,030 models!!! I brought 100 of mine and one of our members got over 400 of his there. A truly amazing event. Here are some pictures.

Don't recall there being much 1/144 stuff. Most of the group is older so i'm guessing they prefer the larger scales.

Thats just a standard across the board. Most of these older gents just don't know about the huge expansion that 1/144th scale has taken in the past ten years!

I was thinking more of eyesight.

I had my little group of 1/144's there. A couple Sweet Wildcats, Platz Hellcat, 2 Revell Germany CF-18's and a Trumpeter Golden Hawk F-86.

I like the exhaust staining on the A-26.

Great stuff!
Love that RC Albatros diorama!
The T-6 biplane apparently had so much drag it could hardly cruise at a decent speed. It was written that it could get off the ground in a very short distance.
