1950's P-80C Restoration

Afternoon Gents,
This is a project I undertook earlier this year. This kit belonged to my father when he was little. I found it in a box full of his old toys and I decided to do what I could with what I had to restore it. The landing gear I modified from a set of landing gear off of a F-84. The nose gear yoke is on the wrong side but the rest fit it pretty well.
I chose a basic non-descript P-80C to recreate. One that looked good and represented the P-80C family well.
This is the P-80C I chose to recreate.
This kit is an OLD Revell kit. So, without further adue the restoration...
*Note: Part of the tail is missing due an incident which resulted in me dropping the kit and the tip broke off... of which I swept the entire area where I dropped it and the piece had vanished int thin air... I was unable to locate it.
Nevertheless, here it is until I find the piece.
Any and all criticisms and or critiques are welcome.

Nice job on the rescue! Odd markings on the plane in the photo - was this P-80 transferred to the Navy?

Honestly, I don't know... I truly couldn't find any information on this particular P-80C.

Is that kit the very very old, very crude and rude LINDBERG kit from about 300 years ago, about 1/72nd-ish scale?

Is that kit the very very old, very crude and rude LINDBERG kit from about 300 years ago, about 1/72nd-ish scale?
No this is a 1950's 1/48 scale P-80C...

The photo is most assuredly that of a NAVY P-80 , I believe it was the TV-1 or asomething like that .
