Just off the top of my head, the Brits flew the B/C and E, The Americans flew the E, F, and K, and the South Africans flew the K as well. Lots of options, although pretty much all of them are either Dark Earth/Middlestone Camo over Azure Blue or Sand over Nuetral Gray.

I'm only asking because I have little money and an almost finished P-40b, built and waiting for paint. I wanted to paint it pink and sky blue, but I can work with desert tan. Looking forward to it. Gotta get me a Stuka!

If it's a P-40B, a British bird with Dark Earth/Middlestone camo over Azure Blue would be appropriate.

Which kit are you working on? Most P-40B/C kits come with decals for North African RAF birds.

OK I'm in.

What are the guidelines? Start and Stop dates?

If this is going to be a North African Campaign or also known as "The Desert War" group build so our subjects will limited to the time fram of June 10, 1940 to May 16, 1943?

Sounds great lets get this going.

This would be the classic monogram kit, but the decals are no good anymore.

I'll make an official start thread tomorrow, it is decided that the Desert War it shall be due to the great diversity of aircraft allowed.

Count me in for a P-40F longtail from the 33rd FG.

My Father-in-Law was in North Africa with the 33rd.

Would also like to do a Me-110 Wespen that i have photos he left me.

When is the deadline, we're entering the cold holidays.

If anyone is interested, I found this site with a lot of different camo patterns for different aircraft.

I might have some problems with painting because of the cold, Michigan and all.

Do you still need decals for the P-40?

Thank you very much, but no. It looks like R.A.F. decals are something I have in abundance. If I was going u.s.a.a.f then I would have for sure.
Thanks a ton for the offer though. :)

Guys, in cold areas try this:

Clean a closet out. Heat in Closet for 30 minutes. Turn heater out, remove, move painting project in and, closing door, get busy. Leave the paint to dry in there over night and it should dry all right even in a cold area. The initial heat will help it set and stay.

I used to have to do this in Alaska lol!
