About time the re-released this:

I wish it were a 1/48 but 1/72 isn't too bad.

That is cool. I am a 1/48th scale guy myself, but I might have to get that.

I wasn't aware a Harpoon had ever been kitted before. The Academy/Minicraft Venturas have been around for close to 20 years now (boy does that make me feel old!)

Paula: It made my day too, I have built probably 10 Venturas before and tried to dummy them up as Harpoons but finally this poor ol bird gets it's own model.
MustangDriver: 1/48 has always been my favorite since I was a kid. Especially since I loved O scale trains and the scale matched up. I loved build dioramas using both O scale buildings, people and cars and then having the 1/48 scale airplanes. Unfortunately I would play with all of them until the broke lol. It wasn't until I was probably 16 that I would build anything to actually keep.
Steve: I have probably built at least 10 of those Venturas, I would build them and of course being a kid I had to play with them too lol. They saw some pretty heavy combat so they didn't last long lol. I built a lot of 1/72 B-25s and 1/72 B-26s too, needless to say none of them survived. There was a 1/72 Harpoon available several years back but never had much availability. There was also a vacuform conversion kit for use on the Academy Ventura kit as well that I would always see in Fine Scale Modeler but I never ended up getting it for some reason and I haven't seen it for about 15 years.

To see what you get in the box go to:

Back in the day there was a vacuform 1/72 Harpoon by Rareplanes. This one looks much better.

The only thing that would really make the model better is if they had a choice of noses and you could go with a D model nose to go with that post war paint scheme, that would really be cool. Maybe at some point they will release a D model too although if they are only going to have one I am glad they went with the C.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the kit looks like it comes with an optional "D" strafer nose. It's shown as crossed out on the parts diagram..meaning another release will feature decals for that version. Probably by one of the other companies under the MPM umbrella.

WOW I am a total individual of questionable judgement! How did I miss that, especially when I was looking?
