Holy smokes, that thing is awesome!
I know I'll get flamed for this, but a natural metal Spit (perhaps polished up like the Red Bull P-38) would be one heck of an airshow attraction.

That would look AWESOME. Has there ever been a polished Spit? I have seen some painted silver that didn't look half bad, but never a bare aluminum one.

There are modellers and then there are freaks. What a work of art. He must have devoted his life to it. He should have built one full size.

Unbelievably beautiful! Wish I knew how to create my favorite warbird with the same quality and attention to detail.

There is a thread on the Keypublishing forum about the 1/4 scale flying model, showing a bit of detail into its build.
http://forum.keypublishing.com/showthre ... ight=AR213I happened to see it on static display at Flying Legends at Duxford and it is an amazing model.

I'd submit your "model" to the following link.
http://www.craftsmanshipmuseum.com/Check out the museum and some of the amazing work done and shown there. Your work should be there also.

If you look towards the bottom of this page you'll see a model of the Mk. XIV that was raced at Cleveland in 1949.
