This Thursday my local model group (NorthWest Scale Modelers) will be rotating out our display case at the Museum Of Flight to put in our new display of Operation:Barbarossa. I had been meaning to add a Ju-52 to my collection and used an old Italeri kit. Gotta say it goes together pretty well. As time was getting short and my next days before the display are pretty busy it has no weathering on it. I plan to muck it up a little when I get it back in 3 months.

Nice work! Why mess it up? Leave it 'factory fresh'

Thanks! After putting on the last piece (windscreen in front of rear gun) I looked at it and smiled widely. It's been a while since i've finished a model and felt like I really got what I wanted.

Now to get that black Corsair finished and a rough take on a local Fw190 :D

:D, g'day Al. very nice Tante Ju there mate. It looks just fine in pristine finish but if you want to make it look a bit used that would be okay too. I'm sure you wouldn't overdo it but, too little is much better than too much. Remember all aircraft go through a stage of a little weatherring before they reach the heavily weathered stage, even if they're having the pants flown off them, as most Ju-52s did during WW2. You can always say "she only has a few hours on her from new." A job well done there.

Cheers,
Ross.

Great looking model. Really, really great!

My brother flew in a similar aircraft several weeks back from France to Germany.

I am not sure he appreciated it as much as I would have. (I would have taken 300 photos)

Very nice! That Italeri Ju-52 is a beautiful kit..hard to believe the tooling dates back to the late '70s. I've got one in The Stash..I've always wanted to do it as an Eastern Front bird with really weathered winter whitewash camo.

Nice work as always Al.

Was it tough to get the decals to conform to that corrugated-type surface? Looks like it wasn't a problem for you. Great job!

Thanks. Just some liberal doses of Micro-Set/Sol.
