Afternoon Gents,

This is a project I undertook earlier this year. This kit belonged to my father when he was little. I found it in a box full of his old toys and I decided to do what I could with what I had to restore it. The landing gear I modified from a set of landing gear off of a F-84. The nose gear yoke is on the wrong side but the rest fit it pretty well.

I chose a basic non-descript P-80C to recreate. One that looked good and represented the P-80C family well. :)

This is the P-80C I chose to recreate.

This kit is an OLD Revell kit. So, without further adue the restoration...

*Note: Part of the tail is missing due an incident which resulted in me dropping the kit and the tip broke off... of which I swept the entire area where I dropped it and the piece had vanished int thin air... I was unable to locate it. :(

Nevertheless, here it is until I find the piece. ;)

Any and all criticisms and or critiques are welcome. :D

Regards,
Laggin' Dragon

Nice job on the rescue! Odd markings on the plane in the photo - was this P-80 transferred to the Navy?

Honestly, I don't know... I truly couldn't find any information on this particular P-80C.

Is that kit the very very old, very crude and rude LINDBERG kit from about 300 years ago, about 1/72nd-ish scale?

Pull up a chair,
50 P-80's Xfrd to USN, 25 to NAS North Island with VF-52, 16 to Marines VMF-31 @ El Toro. As TO-1/TV-1
4485005 P-80A-1-LO became b/n 29668
4485235 b/n 29689
47218/47224 P-80C-1-LO b/n33821/33827
47601/47604 b/n33829/33832
471380/471411 b/n 33833/33849
48376/48381 b/n33865/33870
48382 b/n 33848
And I'm sure there are a few onesie/twosie's in the mix

The MoF has one that used to be a playground 'climb on' when NAS Sand Point was still an active NAS that's partially restored @ the restoration facility @ KPAE
