Question for the P-40 experts out there

I'm working on the 1/48 Trumpeter P-40B, and am planning on using the Cutting Edge decal set choice for the P-40CU based at Mitchel Field on LI NY in 1941.
1. The instructions call for adding the armored glass inside the cockpit windscreen. Which models had this feature? I'm guessing it was mainly for the Brit versions, and that state side P-40's and those of the AVG did not have the armor glazing correct?
2. What color where the wheel wells? The instructions call for interior green, but I believe they were the underside color, neutral gray in this case. Am I correct?
Anybody have more info on what a P-40CU exactly was? (Cutting Edge sheet says only use one .50 cal gun in each wing, where instructions for the RAF Tomohawk have 4 total) Any other features?
Thanks in advance!
Peter
