1946 Taylorcraft wing spars

Fri Mar 16, 2007 7:52 pm

I'm restoring a 1946 BC-12-D1 Taylorcraft, and need to replace the four wing spars. Is there a place that I can order precut and drilled spars?

Thanks

You could try the Spruce and specialty web site. I think they do. On the other hand, my good freind Pete Plumb can probably supply you with any spars you need. He recently provided a set of prefinished Champ spars for us and its a real shame to cover them up! Pete's located at Minterfield near Bakersfield and will sell spruce at or better than anyone else. I like it because I can drive down from Visalia without having to pay shipping from Corona!
BTW- Pete's specialty is Stearman wings, but he can do most anything in wood. I believe if you do a Googal search of his name you can find his web site.

Thanks
