Great picture, Nathan. If you ever get to fly one, do it...you will enjoy it. I flew the CAF YO-55 for years and it was a cutie. I had so much fun in it (hoping the O-2 doesn't disown me for that comment) :lol:

It was particularly fun the day during brief the Airboss asked the L-Bird lead (me) to bring everyone in for a photo pass. At which time I asked "and how do you expect me to do the photo pass without rudder pedals....to which he said "you'll figure it out"..........hmmmmmmm. I'm sure all the other little L-birdy things looked great in their pass...mine was a bit unusual. :roll:

Nathan, why in the world would you ever want to fly something that doesn't even have rudder pedals? That won't get you very far in the warbird world!

Nice airplane, but they're for lazy people.

Back many years ago when I was learning to fly taildraggers, my instructor used to tell me, "happy feet make a happy pilot", meaning learn how to use my feet and make that rudder dance!

But you're probably right....wont get you very far in "warbirds"....but I already had tail wheel endorsement and some hours in those tail dragger things before flying this little itty bitty,

well im not lazy. Besides I like my rudder pedals. Cant live without them. :shock:

You misread me LadyO2Pilot - I said it's for CRAZY people, not lazy people! Wow, that does not sound fun at all!

LOL...agreed....but I promise you become very proficient at crabs .......and don't forget you can't kick it at the end. The very first landing I had at a show was in this condition and I had only read about crabbing all the way to touch down.....it was very very uncomfortable to say the least. But it worked and I got more comfortable over the years. Just made transitioning back to "normal" planes during the season interesting. :roll:

Back in the day...When I was learning to fly, my instructor made me fly from Martinsburg, WV to Winchester, VA using only rudder pedals, throttle, and trim. I thought it was jolly good fun, actually.

ps. Although I haven't flown in a year and a half, I'm going in for my FAA yearly medical exam next week. One never knows, does one? :drink3:
