Just heard a "Breaking News" on Fox of a lightplane crash in upstate NY. They said the pilot had just purchased it in New England, and was flying home when he had to "ditch it"(idiots- Ditching involves landing at sea...)

Anyway, came in and landed in a field, nosewheel collapsed, and it nosed over. Pilot extricated himself & was walking around when rescue arrived.

From pics, looks like a 415 type Ercoupe.

And of course, the talking heads were amazed somebody survived... Morons. Ought to be required to learn about aviation, and flying, before being allowed to report on it!

Morons indeed... here, they always talk about "a Cessna type aircraft" whatever small plane it is. And they always talk about a crash, even in the case of a simple precautionary landing...

Crash sell more paper and TV time...

I seem to recall white with an orange or brown stripe, though I may be mistakes... Didn't note the n-number, or remember seeing it..
