Ryan SC-W
SC = Sport Cabin, W = Warner power (there was an SC-M / Menasco
powered version as well).

A difficult airplane to build, it used 'nested tooling' and every hole was drilled in every part before any assembly started, I think one is used in that awful Robert Stack/Dorthy Malone movie about air racing made in the early 50's

I don't remember seeing one in the movie you referred to (The Tarnished Angels, 1958) but they were used as Japanese fighters in Wake Island (1942).
