2008 Waco Historical Society Fly In

The 2008 WHS event is concluded and a great success. Perfect weather after Ike tore everything up (still plenty of areas in SW OH w/o power as all the local crews and equipment were dispacted to the South and no one left to mind the mint) and a pleasing array of Wacos. Thought some truly cheezy point and shoot pics might be of interest......
Two about as perfect RNF's as exist! NC663Y still has the odd but completely effective mechanical throttle brakes...very unique and surprisingly adaptable.
Here is one FAST Waco! It looks it and it is! A lot of history behind this one....to Guatemala and back, floats wheels and skis. Now it is a beautiful old lady with a -23 Continental.
This S-6 cabin is of interest to this audience. It has an all metalized fuselage! Wood removed and aluminum tubular structure built up then sheeted. A wondefull piece of workmanship as the original "humpback" look was maintained. I believe the was done waaay back by the P26 builder Mayo.
..and of course, all day hot loading ride hopping.....
