Day Three

Didn't get the start of the day but...

And just because we were getting really good at Lincoln Sports (this one is the "original" one.)

The first Lincon Sport is actually a reproduction, the second one in this post is the only remaining original. I have misplaced the engine information, but I do know that the engine on the original leaves lots of "castor oil" on the wings!! I surmise that it has a total loss oil system similar to a rotary engine.

Yes, but in an early and incomplete beta form. I'll post the link when it's a little farther along lest I incurr the wrath of the webmaster (my wife) again.

:)

The museum is northeast of Williamsport, PA at Merritt Field (4pn7) It's closed for the winter.

The original Lincoln Sport has an Anzani 3 cylinder engine, maybe 35 hp or so, similar to the ones used on Bleriots. The repro has a Salmson 40hp 9 cylinder.

Why is the engine off of the Bellanca?

BTW I have about 40 hours in that KR-31, great flying OX-5 airplane....

Not 100% sure axactly what the issue was, but I think it had a significant vibration. They had been messing with it for some time and decided to send it for OH.

The KR 31 looks like fun!
