50th National Waco Club Reunion

Thought I would let all of you in on a secret that we have not advertised for a particular reason....no parking available for transients. June 22-28, 2009 will be the 50th Reunion of the National Waco Club at Wynkoop Airport (6G4) in Mt. Vernon, Ohio. This will be the largest gathering ever of Waco Aircraft. As of today we officially have 79 Wacos pre-registered. Many rare and one-of-a-kind Wacos will be attending. There are various activities planned each day. It is free and open to the public. The catch is that the airport is NOTAM closed to all NON-WACO Airplanes the entire week as we simply have nowhere to park transients, even if they only want to stay for a few hours. We do not want to turn away a Waco because a Piper Cherokee has taken a parking space.
The good news is that all transients can land at Knox County Airport which is 2 miles south of Wynkoop Airport. We will have shuttle service available every day from 0800-2000 on the half hour. This should give anyone the opportunity to see these great old airplanes.
Some of the highlights are that we are expecting at least one of every model of Cabin still flying today, the rare Waco CRG and S3HD will attend, we currently have 11 RNF/INF/KNF models attending (never more than 4 together in 50 years). An example of nearly all the open models will also be in attendance. Lots of flying every day, various dinners each night on the airport (limited seating), several flyouts to other locations (Troy, Ohio to the Waco Museum being one), and a general good time for all. We welcome anyone from WIX to attend and if you want to volunteer for anything from fueling to parking we could use the help.
Never again will we see such a gathering of Wacos so if you are a buff then here is your invitation.
