Just a few (of the many) that caught my eye. Waco S3HD now on my fantasy must-have list.

Neat photos! Thanks for sharing. The vintage area looks like it had some gorgeous airplanes. How many Spartans did you count? I don't think there were any last year. Including Jim Savage's airplane (not included in your shots) there must have been at least 3.

There were SO many vintage/classics I did not get pics of this year, mainly because I just ran out of time.

As any OSH vet will testify, two days simply is not enough time to scout what's new AND connect with friends.

And the Keystone Cops have nothing on the comedy act that went into the picnic prep this year. But in the end we got everyone fed & watered & off to the beer tent for further lubrication (and an obscenely loud band). Sometimes I think I'm getting too old for this, but who else is going to make sure the young-uns' don't run afoul the local constabulary?

Good to see the Puss Moth (first photo) make it. Its new owner is s UK pilot with plenty of vintage experience. He bought it last year from Ed "Skeeter" Carlson a very early antique aircraft restorer. It hadn't flown for 15 +- years, so the owner sent the engine home for rebuild, than returned to Spokane to get the plane flying. It's spent the last month in the Pemberton and sons hangar getting ready for the flight. The fabric and structure was sound but they did some refurbishment of the interior (new correct seats made from factory drawings) and a new (correct) panel. Addison Pemberton made a new radio panel which fits nicely under the standard unit.

I did some of the polishing of the metal trim around the windows and nosebowl.

The owner plans to fly back to Washington, and take it back for the AAA meet in Iowa. His current plans are to keep the plane here in the US for awhile before taking it back to the UK...I'm not sure if "back" is the correct word, since it's never been there. It was assembled by de Havilland Canada from UK made components so has never flown in the UK.

Thanks for posting the vintage photos....there is much more to life than warbirds.

I can only assume the aileron slave strut runs up through the rear N strut on the Waco D? Pretty nifty for the time!
