1930's Biplane amphibian ID?

A local historical society found this image of a plane that once flew off a field in their town. Can anyone identify this aircraft for them? I'm thinking it's Viking, since they built them in New Haven and that's only 20 miles from Wolcott, CT, where this photo was taken.Thanks.

Savoia Marchetti S.56? Those were license-built by American Aeronautical Corp. in Long Island.
