Hi Dan,
A fair number of planes from Schellville and Sonoma Skypark will make the journey to Merced on that Friday as well. Airports may be very quiet on Thursday

Roger,
I hope to catch up with Eric Presten on THUR. I think that will get me in to see some stuff on THUR. Really looking forward to this West Coast trip! What days will you be at Merced?

That's Eric's plane in my Avatar, I was visiting with him this past weekend. I plan to attend on Saturday only. Early arrival and late departure time............Roger

I may be at Merced, but it's a very busy weekend with Beale AFB Open House, the Collings bombers at Mountain View (Moffett), plus the vintage racing at Sears Point / Infineon Raceway. Four events in two days, so something's gotta give!

Yep... going have busy weekends all the way thru the summer!!
Roger... I did notice the Clipper on your avatar!
Hope to bump into whoever makes it there. I'll be the skinny, younger guy with the green backpack full of camera gear.
Did you order up some cooler temps for this Texan?

It's been cool and windy most of this week. I was down in Merced for three days last weekend for the TRARON formation clinic at Castle Airport (ex AFB), and it was much cooler there than in past years also..........

Hi Dan,
Was hoping to get a picture of a few of us Wixers today at Merced, but it escaped me. Was nice meeting you finally in the flesh. Hope you enjoyed your stay and got to watch the P-51 make some impressive passes............

Roger,
I forgot all about trying to get a picture of our group! Yes, I stayed the entire day. Was there for the banquet SAT night as well. The Curtiss Robin took the top award. Other award winners were the Stearman C3, polished/red 170 and the Lockheed 12.
My pics are now up....
