The topic of Jackie Cochran's P-51B came up on the Warbird site, making me think about what might have happened to her Staggerwing. Anyone have any ideas?

If they do Rob, they aren't bragging about it. It's not listed in their collection.
It should be a D17W, or as purported to be converted to a D17R when impressed in the Air Corps in WW2 served as a UC-43K.(Warbird!)

My Staggering book lists it as crashed while in Army service and not rebuilt. This was SN164 and was a D17W but converted to a 600(!)HP P/W 985. Bummer.... that would have been a neat one to survive today.

I have a couple of photos of this Staggerwing. I'll post them soon.
