Hangar space rental questions

Hello,
I just wanted to know how renting hangar space works? Do you pay monthly? How much usually? I know some hangar space goes by how many diameter inches your airplane is. Like $4.00 for every inch for example? What are some negative's that anyone has experianced that another company can work on to make for a happier customer? I'm looking into starting an aviation based business. I'd kind of like to hit on corperate aircraft and General aircraft. One of my ideas is hangar rental. Is it a viable market? Or something just enough to pay the bills? What good service would keep pilots coming back?
