This forum is for discussions pertaining to Air Racing and Aerobatics of NON-Warbird aircraft. In addition this is the place to discuss General Aviation aircraft topics and yes Michael, that includes flying Lawnmowers

Does anybody here have a link to that bunch of aircraft snafu photos that periodically goes around aviation sites? I was reminded of it just now in a FB conversation about missing luggage and there's a pic in that series of a baggage container stuck in the intake of a big turbofan.
Post it here or email me at

Hi Warhawk, how've you been? The Delta close up is the one I remembered. Do you have the link to that whole set of pix. There was another one in the group of a Cessna flying into a pickup with two cowpokes jumping out of it. Looked like out west scenerey.

I've been busy for the last couple months dealing with that B^#*h Irene. Nice that my life is getting back to something that approaches normal.
Links? I have none. I had seen the Delta picture myself so I spent five minutes with my old pal Google and came up with the JAL shots. Delta took me five more minutes.

No, but I recognize several pix from these. Pretty interesting in its own right, thanks WallyB.

Ten, I think the one I'm thinking of is an edited version of this one. I saw a lot of photos I recognized from that group and several more that have come over the wire individually from different sources. In this link "short landing" is the one of the Cessna hitting the truck that I mentioned in my earlier post.
This stuff is outrageous! Any more WIXers who know of stuff like this, send it one.

Doug,
I don't know if this is the image you have mentioned. This -one of at least a couple of similar accidents- happened in Guatemala, in 1976, after a massive earthquake hit the country. Straight sections of highways were used to land civilian aircraft providing supplies and medevac. This photo shows one of those accidents, near the town of Sanarate, Department of El Progreso. I do not know the name of the photographer.
Saludos,
Tulio

The majority of photos on that site are 'lurking' under the preview link:
http://www.aviationpics.de/prev/page_01.htmThere's no index that I can see so you have to wade through many pages if you're looking for something specific. The other site (above) is better organized and with movies too !

Thats the one Tulio. Thanks for the background.

Airknocker, I'm somewhat familiar with Alexis park inn. Under "airshows" there's a video of a warbird taildragger running over a parked car. That video was mentioned when I went through flightline safety and marshaller training at Lone Star.
"How NOT to do it." One marshaller was not at his post and the next guy back passed off a taxiing a/c to someone who wasn't there. DUH!
Is it possible to contact anyone on any of these sites for background info on these foul ups? I'd sure like to know what happened in some of them. Then again some are pretty obvious.
I"ve had some good entertainment the last couple of nights looking at all this stuff.
blue skies, everyone.
