This forum is for discussions pertaining to Air Racing and Aerobatics of NON-Warbird aircraft. In addition this is the place to discuss General Aviation aircraft topics and yes Michael, that includes flying Lawnmowers

Nathan,
Whatever you do, figure out what your goals are, and then look at what you can do to actually reach them. Yesterday I finally reached another of my goals and actually passed the CFI checkride - so yes, it is quite possible to go pretty far (basically debt free except for one fairly minor under $500 unscheduled fee) on the $10/hr and lots of hours kind of work lifestyle! Oh, no handouts, no lottery tickets, no alcohol of any kind, no fires in the mouth either. I do have a very supportive family who told me not to quit when I wanted to, and did everything possible to accommodate my schedule!
Again, if you want it badly enough, it's doable!

Nathan,
I'm just curious, a few questions:
1. When you say "get your wings" do you mean you want to be a commercial pilot or just fly warbirds for fun?
2. How many hours of instruction do you actually have logged?
3. If I understand correctly you spend alot of time at a museum? and you do what there exactly?
4. You mentioned joining the AF, does that mean you are willing to travel to make things happen?
Please understand we are all in your corner and want to help. Quite a few of us who were not born with rich generous relatives have been in your situation.
