I'm not so sure it isn't a warbird.
There were entire missions devoted to DOD and Air Force needs, flown by entire military crews, and we may never know what they did or deployed during those missions.

Warbird. I think it is.

I think the significance and enormity of the Shuttle program and it's contribution to the aerospace industry warrants allowing this thread being in the most visible place. Just my opinion...

Only if you have a fairly narrow definition of a warbird...

It was flown by military crews, doing nothing but DoD missions. STS-51-C, STS-51-J, STS-27, STS-28, STS-33, STS-36, STS-38, STS-53 are all still at least partially classified. Most were flown with only military personnel on board. Not really sure what else we need for something to be a warbird...
